TikTok Creator Marketplace is TikTok’s in-app place where brands find creators and offer paid campaigns, and it now runs under the TikTok One name. TikTok says creators can sign up for TikTok One to find paid opportunities and collaborate with brands. To join, you must be at least 18, live where TikTok One has launched and follow TikTok’s Community Guidelines and Branded Content Policy. To take part in projects, TikTok lists at least 1,000 followers plus other requirements that vary by project.
At Earn by Creating, we write how-to guides for people who get paid to create, and we check each requirement against TikTok’s own help pages. Joining the marketplace does not guarantee offers. Brands choose creators from the profiles they see, so this guide covers both how to sign up and how to look worth picking.
TikTok Creator Marketplace Requirements
Here is what TikTok’s help page lists for creators who want to join TikTok One and take part in brand projects.
| Requirement | What TikTok lists |
|---|---|
| Location | TikTok One has launched in your country or region |
| Age | At least 18 |
| Policies | You meet the Community Guidelines and the Branded Content Policy |
| Followers for projects | At least 1,000 followers, plus other requirements |
| Project rules | Vary by project and are subject to change |
The 1,000-follower line applies to taking part in projects. Individual brand campaigns can ask for more, such as a minimum view count, a niche or an audience in a certain country. TikTok shows those extra requirements on each project, so read them before you apply.
Older guides quote higher bars, such as 10,000 followers. TikTok One’s help page currently lists 1,000 followers for projects. Do not confuse the marketplace with the Creator Rewards Program, a separate program that pays for views and lists 10,000 followers. Our Creator Rewards guide covers its requirements.
How to Sign Up for TikTok One
TikTok lists four ways to sign up:
- The sign-up link or QR code. TikTok’s help page links to a sign-up page and a QR code you can scan with your phone.
- Search in the app. Search for “TikTok One” and tap the TikTok One Creator Marketplace.
- TikTok Studio. Go to your profile, open TikTok Studio and tap Creator Marketplace.
- An agency invitation. If you work with a talent agency that uses TikTok One, it can send you an invitation link.
After you sign up, fill out every part of your profile. Brands filter creators by category, location and audience, so a blank field can keep you out of a search.
How Brands Use the Marketplace
Brands use TikTok One to search for creators, send campaign offers and track results inside TikTok. A typical project looks like this:
- The brand posts a brief or searches profiles. It sets the product, the content it wants, the deadline and the creator criteria.
- You get an offer or apply. Offers arrive in the app, or you apply to open projects that match you.
- You agree the terms. Read the deliverables, the payment, the posting date and whether the brand can run your video as a paid ad.
- You make and post the video. The brand may review a draft before you post.
- The brand tracks results. The marketplace reports views and engagement for the campaign, which is why brands with set campaign budgets like it.
Because results are tracked, your recent performance matters. A profile with steady views on the last ten videos looks safer to a brand than one with a single viral post and nothing since.
How to Get Picked for Paid Campaigns
Joining is the easy part. Getting offers depends on what brands see when they open your profile:
- A clear niche. “Budget home cooking” tells a food brand who watches. A mix of unrelated topics makes the brand guess.
- Steady posting. Brands check whether you can hit a deadline. A long gap in your posts makes them pass.
- Examples that sell without sounding like ads. Pin two or three videos where you show a product in use, even products you bought yourself.
- Realistic rates. If TikTok asks for your rates, set them at a level you would accept without haggling. Our influencer rates guide shows how to price a post and add-ons.
- A media kit for off-platform deals. Some brands find you in the marketplace and then email you. Keep a one-page kit ready with the media kit builder or our influencer media kit guide.
Treat the marketplace as one route among several. Direct pitches still bring many first deals, and our guide on how to get brand deals on TikTok covers that route with example emails.
Pricing Spark Ads and Usage Rights
Many marketplace campaigns ask for Spark Ads access, which lets the brand run your post as a paid ad while it still shows your handle. That is paid reach on your content, so price it separately from the post. Most creators price it by how long the code stays active, for example 30, 60 or 90 days, with a higher price for longer windows.
Before you accept a campaign, confirm in the offer or in writing:
- Which video the brand can run as an ad
- How many days the Spark Ads code stays active
- Whether the brand gets exclusivity in your niche, and for how long
- When and how you get paid
If a brand wants to extend the ad window after it ends, that is a new fee.
Disclosure and Taxes for Marketplace Deals
Every paid TikTok post needs a clear disclosure. Turn on TikTok’s branded content setting and also say it in the video and the caption. The FTC updated its Endorsement Guides in 2023, and they call for disclosure of any material connection, including payment and free products, made clearly and conspicuously. Meeting TikTok’s Branded Content Policy is also a condition of joining TikTok One.
In the US, marketplace income is self-employment income. Self-employment tax is 15.3% on net earnings once they reach $400, and you may need quarterly estimated payments with Form 1040-ES. Free products you receive for promotion are generally taxable too. The Modern Wallet explains how much to set aside. This is general information, so talk to a tax professional about your own situation.
TikTok Creator Marketplace vs Other Ways to Get Paid
| Option | Who pays | Follower bar | Main drawback |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok One Creator Marketplace | The brand, through TikTok | 1,000+ for projects, plus project rules | You wait to be picked |
| Direct brand pitches | The brand | No platform minimum | Many pitches get no reply at first |
| Creator Rewards Program | TikTok, per qualified view | 10,000 listed | Only original videos over one minute earn |
| UGC (user-generated content) work | The brand, for videos it posts | None | Pay is per video, with no audience growth |
If you have fewer than 1,000 followers, start with UGC work, which pays for videos brands post on their own accounts. Our UGC hub has the steps.
Who Should Not Wait on the Marketplace
If TikTok One has not launched where you live, or you are under 1,000 followers, you cannot take part in projects yet. Pitch brands directly and build examples instead. Even after you join, do not stop pitching. Offers in the marketplace depend on brands choosing you, and direct pitches let you choose them.
What would change this advice: if TikTok lowered the project bar or opened TikTok One in your country, joining would move to the top of your list, since offers there come with built-in tracking.
Open TikTok Studio today, check whether Creator Marketplace appears, and finish every field of your profile before you pitch your first brand.
