Free Tools for Creators
Small tools that answer one money question fast.
Two free tools for the two money questions new creators ask most: “Am I eligible for YouTube monetization yet?” and “What do I send a brand that asks for my media kit?” Both run in your browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere.
The YouTube Monetization Checker
Enter your subscribers, recent uploads, watch hours and Shorts views. The checker compares them with both Partner Program tiers and shows the shortest path to each one. It is the quickest way to see whether you should push long-form watch time or Shorts views next. The full rules, including the policy requirements a number cannot show, are in YouTube monetization requirements.
The Media Kit Builder
Fill in your niche, platform, audience numbers, proof and starting rate. The builder works out your engagement rate both ways, then writes a clean one-page media kit you can paste into Canva or a document and export as a PDF. Pair it with what to charge for a sponsored post and the pitch templates.
Free Templates
The downloads page has a one-page media kit template and a UGC rate card with usage rights, whitelisting and other add-ons priced on top of the base video. Fill in the rate card before your first UGC job so you have a price ready when a brand asks.
Why We Built Only Two Tools
Many creator calculators online ask for an email before they show an earnings estimate. We would rather build a few tools that answer a question with a number you can check. The monetization checker uses YouTube’s own thresholds. The media kit builder only does arithmetic on numbers you enter. If a tool would need us to guess at a platform’s payout rates, we leave it out and explain the math in a guide instead, as how to make money on YouTube does for RPM.
Frequently asked questions
Are these tools free?
Yes. There is no signup and no email gate on the tools themselves. The two PDF templates on the downloads page ask for an email so the download service can send you the file.
How current are the YouTube thresholds in the checker?
They match YouTube Help as of October 2026: 500 subscribers, 3 recent uploads and 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views for fan funding, and 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views for ad revenue. YouTube’s updated Partner Program terms take effect on February 1, 2027, and we will update the tool if the thresholds change.
What engagement rate should my media kit show?
Show the number you can back up with a screenshot, and say how it is calculated. Engagement per view is harder to inflate than engagement per follower, because bought followers do not add views. The media kit guide explains each section.
Earn by Creating publishes general information for creators. It is not legal, tax or financial advice, and nothing here promises income. Platform rules, payout terms and prices change often, so check the platform's own help pages before you rely on a number. Some links may be affiliate links; that never changes what we recommend.
